McIntyre, William D., 1897-1973.

William D. McIntyre was born November 16, 1897 in New York City to Irish immigrant parents. McIntyre began his career as a salesman. In 1935, he founded and assumed the office of President of the Tender Krust Baking Company in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. McIntyre was active in local, state, and national politics, and he served on the Board of Regents of Normal Schools, and its successor, the Board of Regents of State Colleges, for twenty years. The William D. McIntyre Library at the University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire is named in his honor. McIntyre died on April 10, 1973.
