Allen, Lee Chester, b. 1917.
Staff Sergeant Lee Chester Allen was born in Columbus, Ohio, on 9 August 1917. He entered the United States Army on 10 December 1942 and was assigned to D Company, 335th Infantry Regiment, 84th Infantry Division. He was awarded the Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster for his service in Germany and Belgium. In the 1960s, Allen became executive secretary of the 84th Infantry Division (Railsplitter) Society, the division's veterans association.
