Olive L. Erickson was contacted by the Washington State Library in 1953 for biographical information to determine if she should be included in the Washington Authors Collection. She had a published volume of poems titled Inspirational and Other Poems. Ms. Wilson sent some of Mrs. Erickson's later poems that were manuscript and a type written copy of each of her manuscript poems to be added to her published poems. Ms. Wilson states in her letter that Mrs. Erickson was living alone in a tiny house and quite lonesome at the time of the requested information and suggested that a letter be sent to her in response to receiving her poems. Ms. Wilson thought it would bring Mrs. Erickson great pleasure.
