Established around 1945 as a successor to Emerson G. Wullings' earlier fine printing ventures, including Press Preterite, which began in 1915 when the 12-year-old received his first hand printing press. The LaCrosse (Wis.) firm operated through the 1990s, printing some 200 pieces ranging from ephemera through bound works smaller than 100 pages.
