Clarence Wilcox was born at Adrian, Michigan on December 14, 1880. He attended Adrian High School and Adrian College and received his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1905. He came to Detroit after receiving his law degree and joined in a firm with Horace Rackham in 1906. In 1919 he was appointed corporation counsel of Detroit by mayor-elect James Couzens. He served as corporation counsel from 1919 to 1523 and 1928 to 1932. Mr. Wilcox retired to private practice in 1932. Mr. Wilcox married Marguerite Arnett in 1909. They had two sons, James and Edward, and one daughter, Josephine. Mr. Wilcox died November 21, 1958 at Detroit. (from Detroit News, November 22, 1958) (blue index cards).
