Born January 7, 1927, Orange, TX. Historian and author. Forrest McDonald received his Ph. D. in American History from the Universityo f Texas in 1955. His research areas have included American economic and business history and United States history prior to 1800. As part of his research in American economic and business history, McDonald was contracted to write the biography of Samuel Insull by Samuel Insull, Jr., through the American History Research Center. In addition to the biography, he published articles and presented several papers on electricity and Insull including "Let There Be Light", "Samuel Insull and the Movement for State Regulatory Commissions" and "The Fall of the House of Insull."
