Texas State CIO Council.
Organized June 20, 1937 as the Texas Federation of C.I.O. Unions, the name changed twice in 1938, first to Texas Council of C.I.O. Unions, then to Texas State Industrial Union Council. In 1953 it became the Texas State CIO Council which merged in 1957 with the Texas State Federation of Labor to form the Texas AFL-CIO.
