Gray family.
Alexander Gray came to Old Town, Maine, in 1832 to manage a sawmill belonging to J.N. & A. Cooper. The Gray family also engaged in lumbering and operated various businesses in Old Town. In the late 1890s they began to manufacture canoes, forming the Old Town Canoe Company.
