Mary Reynolds Aldis (1872-1949) was a poet and playwright. In 1910, she founded the Aldis Playhouse, which operated for several summers on the grounds of the Lake Forest home she shared with her husband, real estate executive Arthur T. Aldis. She also served as President of the Visiting Nurses Association of Chicago
