Ruth Fuller was born in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1901. An accomplished swimmer, Fuller won several competitions in the Boston area as a teenager. She also participated in many sports while attending Radcliffe College (A.B. 1925). She attended Boston University, earning an M.A. in social work in 1940. Following graduation, she was a social worker in Boston. Choosing not to marry, she traveled with friends and family to Nassau, Bahamas, and to Venezuela via cruise ships. She died in Boston, on December 8, 1959, of pneumonia.
