Collison, Margaret Davis, 1921-

Margaret Davis Collison, a Democratic party activist and member of the Iowa Board of Regents in the 1970s, was born in Farmington, Missouri in 1921. She received an A.A. from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri in 1940 and a B.A. in nursing from St. Louis University in 1943, where she met her husband, Robert M. Collison. The couple settled in Oskaloosa, Iowa, and raised eleven children together.

In addition to Collison's work on the Iowa Board of Regents, she was active in many social and political organizations. She was also heavily involved in Roxanne Conlin's gubernatorial campaign in 1982 and in church activities.
