Standard, Stella
Variant namesCookbook author Stella Standard (1897-1986) grew up in Columbus, Neb., the daughter of Emma West and Homer Bates Robinson. Married in 1924 to Paul Standard, the couple spent considerable time in Europe. Her approach to food was eclectic and very American, and she published 10 cookbooks between 1946 and 1970, including Whole Grain Cookery: A Gourmet Guide to Glowing Health (1951) and The Art of Fruit Cookery (1964).
