American Association of University Professors. Louisiana State University Chapter.
The American Association of University Professors' purpose is to advance academic freedom and shared governance, to define fundamental professional values and standards for higher education, and to ensure higher education's contribution to the common good. The first members from Louisiana State University joined the AAUP in 1927 and an LSU chapter was organized in 1928. The Louisiana Conference was organized in 1961.
