United States Subcommittees of the Lutheran World Federation were designed to foster fruitful contact between U.S. Lutheran churches and certain Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Commissions with special assignments. LWF activities in the United States were directed by the National Lutheran Council as its Executive Committee served as the U.S.A. National Committee of the LWF from 1947 through 1966. The U.S.A.
