Franklin County Beet Growers (Idaho)

Hide Profile

The Franklin County, Idaho Beet Growers Association (FCBGA) was incorporated 1931 and dissolved in 1981. The association's purpose was to market beets grown by Franklin County farmers. When the Utah Farm Bureau Federation began the cooperative marketing of Utah sugar beets in the 1920s, the FCBGA organized in response. Even though Franklin County is in Idaho, the Association was a member of the Utah Beet Growers Association. The sale of sugar beets occurred through the Franklin County Sugar Company in Whitney, until 1962 when it switched to the Amalgamated Sugar Company in Lewiston, Idaho.
