Lachlan McIntosh served in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, being station in Valley Forge during the winter of 1778. After his death in 1806, his descendants, including Hampden McIntosh and wife Charlotte, sold off parcels of inherited land. Virgil Homer Vivion purchased the tract outlined in this indenture. Vivion was also a military man, having served in Pray's Regiment (2nd Regiment of Georgia) during the War of 1812.
