Major, Mabel, 1894-
Variant namesMabel Major was born in 1894 in Ogden, Utah. She received A.B., B.S., and M.A. degrees from the University of Missouri. She was a professor in the English Department at Texas Christian University from 1919 to 1963. She specialized in Southwestern literature and co-authored Southwest Heritage, a literary history of the Southwest, in 1938. Mabel Major died in 1974.
