Agency History: The University Programming Board is a branch of the Stout Student Association which aids in coordinating, facilitating, and organizing all campus student activities. The main responsibility of the board is to develop a diversified program of activities which will provide social, cultural, and educational experiences for the student.
Although this responsibility was part of the purpose of the Stout Student Association when it was established in 1923, it was not until about 1971 that a separate unit was established to shoulder the responsibility. This unit was originally called the University Activities Assembly. The name was changed in 1976 to University Activities Board. In 1982 the name was changed to the present University Programming Board.
