East Tennessee State University. Appalachian-Scottish & Irish Studies Program.
In 1988 the Appalachian-Scottish Studies Program began at ETSU; in 1989 ETSU and the University of Edinburgh entered into a formal agreement on the program. In 1996 the program changed its name to reflect study of connections to Northern Ireland.
