Harvey, Thomas, 1812-1884
Variant namesThe Harveys were one of the prominent Quaker families in Leeds in the 19th and early 20th centuries. They were related, by marriage, to several other local Quaker families, including the Fryer, Firth and Jowitt families. Thomas Harvey, chemist, of Leeds, married Sarah Grace Fryer in 1845. They had three sons, but the eldest, Joseph, died in 1852, at the age of six, and the youngest, Thomas, drowned in a skating accident in Regents Park in 1867. William, the surviving son, married Anna Maria Whiting in 1873 and they had eight children
