George Seanor Robb was born May 19, 1887 at Assaria in Saline County, Kansas. He was educated in county public schools and at Park College Academy in Missouri. George graduated from Park College in 1912 with an A.B. degree. In 1915 he received a M.A. degree from Columbia University. Mr. Robb taught high school history from 1912 to 1917. George served in World War I, and was the only native Kansan to win the Congressional Medal of Honor. Mr. Robb was in real estate from 1921 to 1923 and became the Postmaster for Salina, Kansas. He served in this position until 1935 when he was appointed State Auditor for Kansas on November 12. George was then elected State Auditor in 1936 and continued at that job until 1961. Robb was married, had two children, was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. George S. Robb died May 14, 1972.
