Slade, George Theron, 1871-1941.
Slade worked for the Great Northern Railway (1893-1899 and 1903-1907); for the Erie and Wyoming Valley Railroad Company (1899-1903); as general manager of the Northern Pacific Railway Company (1907-1918); as director general of the U.S. Army Transportation Corps in western Europe (1918-1919); and as an official of the Northern Pacific Railway and other businesses (circa 1919-1940). His wife Charlotte was a daughter of St. Paul railroad magnate James J. Hill.
