Fitzpatrick, Joseph F., 1932-2002.
Dr. Joseph F. Fitzpatrick Jr., a native of New Orleans, La., received his B.S. in zoology in 1959 and M.S. in zoology in 1961, both from Tulane University. After completing his Ph.D. in biology in 1964 at the University of Virginia, Fitzpatrick's attention focused on ecology and decapod crustaceans, performing the majority of his research with crawfish. After teaching at Mississippi State University and Randolph-Macon Woman's College, he moved to Mobile, Ala., and taught at the University of South Alabama for twenty-five years until retiring in 1998.
