Ewer, Charles C., 1839-1879.
Charles C. Ewer was born in Barnstable, Mass. in 1839 and died in Washington, D.C., February 13, 1879. He married Mary Ellen Schutter and had two children; Maidee Schutter Ewer and Pauline Ryder Ewer. In 1862, Ewer enlisted in the 44th Regiment of Massachusetts volunteers. He was wounded at Whitehall, N.C. and later discharged. He moved to Washington, D.C. and was employed in the Second Auditor's Office until his death.
