Parkman (Harvard, M.D. 1838) was a demonstrator of anatomy at Harvard Medical School from 1840 to 1849. He also taught anatomy at Castleton Medical College in Vermont, from 1843 to 1846. He was a surgeon at the Massachusetts General Hospital and also maintained a private practice in Boston.
