Dudley L. Davis (b. 1915) received a master's degree in Engineering in 1955 from the University of Nevada. He was a registered professional engineer in the states of Arizona and Nevada and a registered geologist in California. Early in his career, Davis worked for the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission in Utah and California. Davis established D. L. Davis Associates, a mining consultant firm, in the 1960s and made his home in Grand Junction, Colorado. Throughout his career, Davis worked as a chief geologist and engineer, a general manager and as a consultant for mining companies in the western United States, Alaska, Canada, Mexico, and Asian and South American countries. He evaluated the prospects of rehabilitating old mines, appeared as an expert witness in mining litigation, performed drilling location exploration, wrote several reports and published in technical journals.
