Fobes, Hayward and Company.
One of the predecessors of the New England Confectionery Company, Fobes, Hayward and Company was formed in 1865 when Daniel Fobes admitted Daniel H. and Albert F. Hayward into his candy business, established in 1850 as Ball and Fobes in partnership with Joseph G. Ball, who retired in 1865. In 1901 Fobes, Hayward joined with Chase and Company and Wright and Moody to form the New England Confectionery Company (NECCO).
