Lyn Brown has had poetry published in various magazines, and has been a poetry reviewer and member of the ASA (Australian Society of Authors). She has worked as a language teacher and at CSIRO where she met the writer Marjorie Barnard. She started corresponding with Nevill Coghill because of a possible shared ancestry as well as a shared interest in C. S. Lewis, who had inspired her to renew her religious faith.
