Kaiser Shipyards (Richmond, Calif.)
Clay Bedford, along with his son Tim, were the men in charge of the Kaiser Shipyards in Richmond, Calif., during World War II, working directly under Henry J. Kaiser.

Hull No. 2272, George Clement Perkins (built 1944; freighter: EC2-S-C1) was sold to private shipping company in 1947 and scrapped in 1969; hull No. 2279, William E. Ritter (built 1944; freighter: EC2-S-C1) sent to Russia in 1944 as Briansk and scrapped in 1975.
