Robert F. Williamson was born on May 17, 1925 in New York. At the time of his enlistment in the Army on August 17, 1943, he was single and had completed four years of high school. Williamson joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. where he was assigned to the 90th Infantry Regiment, but later transferred to Company C of the 86th Infantry Regiment. He also served at Camp Swift, Tex. before being sent to Italy. During combat operations in Italy he received the Bronze Star Medal for his actions near Pilastrino on April 18, 1945. He died at Juno Beach, Fla. on December 12, 2009.
