Variant namesPrivate attached to Company B, 12th Training Battalion, 4th Regiment, IRTC (1943); participated in Army Specialized Training Unit (ASTP), Company C, Sec.2 at North Carolina State College (1944). Saw action in France and Luxembourg as part of Company L, 3rd Battalion, 346th Infantry Regiment. Spent time in hospitals in England (1945). After war continued military career, became lieutenant and saw action in Korea as part of Battery C, 424th FA Battalion (1952). Advanced to rank of colonel in the field artillery.
