Connors, James Joseph.

James Joseph Connors was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1876 and emigrated to the US in 1893. He married Katherine Ann Collins from Kent, Washington July 1907. Connors worked in timber, mining and mercantile in Nome and Candle and owned a hotel in Council, 1902-1914. He came to Juneau and owned and operated Connors Motor Co. from 1915-1933. He was a city councilman in Juneau in 1918 and 1922-1924, mayor from 1925-1926, a member of the Democratic National Committee 1928-1934 and collector of customs 1933-1951. He died in Seattle Dec. 16, 1951.
