Duplantier, Armand Gabriel Allard, 1753-1827.
Armand Duplantier was born in Voiron, Dept. of Isere, France, in 1753. He served as General Lafayette's aide-de-camp during the Revolutionary War and in 1782 came to Louisiana to assist his maternal uncle, Claude Trenonay, with his plantation in Pointe Coupee. In 1825 General Lafayette visited Duplantier at Magnolia Mound Plantation near Baton Rouge (La.), which became the Duplantier home after Armand's second wife, Constance Rochon, inherited it from her first husband, John Joyce.
