Albert Francis Bush was born Jan. 20, 1916 in Boise, ID; as a high school student and college undergraduate, worked with Topographic Mapping Division of US Geographical Survey in ID and MT; in 1940 received BA in civil engineering from Stanford Univ., and joined Pacific Board of Fire Underwriters in LA; from 1941-43, he worked for the firm of Leeds, Hill, Barnard and Jewett, and for the US War Dept.; from 1943-49 was industrial hygiene engineer for the CA Dept. of Public Health; MS in Public Health Engineering from Harvard Univ. in 1947; joined faculty of UCLA College of Engineering in 1949, becoming full professor in 1960; also taught in the UCLA Public Health Dept.; active in American Society of Civil Engineers, American Public Health Assn., American Society for Engineering Education, American Industrial Hygiene Assn., and Water Pollution Control Federation; served for 14 years on Board of Directors of Metropolitan Water District of Southern CA; died Aug. 29, 1976 in ID.
