Kenneth Bailey (1909-1963), biochemist; Beit Scientific Research Fellow at Imperial College London, 1933; researcher at the Low Temperature Research Station, Cambridge, 1940s; Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge; Assistant Director of Research in the University, 1948; Fellow of the Royal Society, 1953; University Reader in Biochemistry, 1961. Bailey suffered from a recurrent illness from 1955 and acute depression in 1962. He committed suicide in 1963.
