Lancelot Walton was a defender of the Parsees (Zoroastrian communities in India), in the 20th century.
From the guide to the Lancelot Walton letter, 1867, (L. Tom Perry Special Collections)
Dixon appears to have granted Lancelot Walton his request. In the 1867 edition of New America, the sentences about the Parsee read, "Polygamy enters into the poetry of Cordova, the romance of Bagdad. The enterprising Parsee, the learned Brahman, the fiery Rajpoot, all embrace it" (pp.213 of 1867 edition). By the ninth edition in 1869, these sentences have been changed. "Polygamy enters into the poetry of Cordova, the romance of Bagdad. The enterprising Jain, the learned Brahman, the fiery Rajpoot, all embrace it" (pp. 184 of 1869 edition).
