Della V. Sunstrom was a Reserve Nurse (RN), in the Army Nurse Corps (ANC) and was called to active duty on 5 January 1918 and sworn in 10 January 1918. Her first assignment was with the Camp Hospital at Douglas, Arizona. She served there until October 1918 when she was transferred to the Base Hospital, Camp Jackson, South Carolina. On 10 June 1919, she departed South Carolina for Daggett, Michigan where she was discharged 28 July 1919.
