Bertha Ballinger was born in New Prague, Minn., on 14 June 1885, the daughter of Andrew and Bertha (Valentine) Ballinger. She homesteaded in Beaverhead County, Mont., near Grant, ca. 1907. She married John Aduddell in 1911 and they continued to homestead until World War I, when they moved to Washington State and later to Cody, Wyo., where John Aduddell left the family. Bertha Adudell lived in Cody the rest of her life.
