Kenneth William Blaine Fitzgerald was born in 1909 in Blaine, Washington. He studied journalism at the University of Oregon and worked for the Works Progress Administration's Historical Records Survey. After serving in the military during World War II, he worked on the staff of the McMinnville News-Register from 1956-1959, and served as the editor of the Oregon Grange Bulletin from 1967-1992. He also served as president of the Consumer Power League, the Oregon Shores Conservation Coalition, and headed his own advertising firm. His wife was Wanda L. Fitzgerald.
