Frank Hadas was born August 24, 1882 in Detroit, Michigan. He began work with the Ford Motor Company at the Piquette Plant in 1905, working his way up to chief tester and then assembler. He became branch assembly plant inspector around 1912. Working as an aide and assistant to William S. Knudsen, Hadas helped develop more than twenty-eight Ford branch factories. For fifteen years, he traveled around the country visiting branches and dealers while promoting the beginnings of a unified service policy. During World War I, Knudsen put him in charge of a $46-million contract producing Eagle boats, a submarine chaser designed by the Navy and manufactured at a new shipbuilding plant on the Rouge River in Dearborn. Hadas left the company in 1926.
