Gandy, Barbara J.
Barbara J. Gandy was hired by Lord Beaverbrook to help set up the Old Manse Library in Newcastle, N.B. She moved from England to Newcastle to take up her post. Her correspondence includes the minutiae of book, periodical, furniture and supply purchases, along with the larger issues of building a valuable collection and offering good library service to a community.
