John Divine (23 May 1911-19 Nov. 1996), was an amateur historian who lived most of his life in Waterford, Va. He spent most of his life researching, writing, and speaking about local history, especially from the Civil War era. He co-founded the Loudoun Historical Society and served as vice president, wrote articles about the Civil War for local newspapers, regimental histories of two Confederate units, and co-authored a history of Waterford, which was completed and published after his death.
