Cooke, Wells W. (Wells Woodbridge), 1858-1916
Variant namesWells Cooke grew up in Ripon, Wisconsin and earned degrees from Ripon College. He taught at Indian Schools in Minnesota, briefly studied at the University of Iowa and encouraged ornithologists to record seasonal data related to birds. He published numerous articles on bird migration in the Mississippi Valley in The Ornithologist and Oologist.
