Davison, Frederic E. (Frederic Ellis), 1917-
Frederic E. Davison was an African American Army officer who was born in Washington D.C. in 1917; graduated from Howard University in 1938 and Reserve Officers Training School. Served in the 366th Infantry Regiment, 92nd Infantry Division in the Italian campaign of World War II. He was the first African American general commanding a division, the first African American commanding officer of a brigade and the second African American general in the United States Army.
