Ida May Cooper was born in Kenyonville, N.Y. in 1870 and worked as a nurse. In 1899, she traveled through Europe as companion to an elderly woman. She married Colonel R. Stowell in 1902, had no children, and died in 1962 in Medina, N.Y. Andrew Dickson White was Ambassador to Germany from 1897 to 1902.
