Nellie (Dec. 12, 1883-Aug. 5, 1948) and Verna (Oct. 1, 1896-Sept. 23, 1987) were both born in Isabella County (Mich.). Nellie earned a lifetime teaching certificate from CSTC, 1916, and a B.A. from CMNS, 1930. She taught Sr. English in public schools beginning at age 17, at Grandon School (Marion, Mich.), and for her last 24 years at Robinson School (Toledo, Ohio). Verna graduated from Central High school, 1914, earned a certificate from CSTC, 1915, and a B.A. from CMNS, 1931. She taught in Winn and Rosebush (Mich.), 6th grade at Old Mount Pleasant High School, 1921, and 7th grade at Fancher School in Mount Pleasant, 1937-1957.
