Ernest W. Harper is a retired electrician and an amateur geologist. He has found and retraced many Indian trails and federal roads in the Columbus, Ga. area and also participated in locating Fort Perry, one of the forts built by Gen. John Floyd in 1813 as part of his effort to retaliate against Creek Indians.
