Variant namesE. L. Konigsburg (b. Elaine Lobl, February 10, 1930–d. April 19, 2013) was an American writer and illustrator of children's books and young adult fiction. She is one of six writers to win two Newbery Medals. Her works include Jennifer, Hecate, Macbeth, William McKinley, and Me, Elizabeth (1967), From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler (1967), The View from Saturday (1997).
