Gray, Oriel, 1920-2003.
Oriel Gray lived in Sydney during the early part of her writing career and later relocated to Melbourne. Gray's major output as a playwright was in the period from the 1940s to the 1960s. Gray's plays dealt with complex social issues, including Aboriginal rights, life in the bush, the migrant experience and women's employment. In addition to writing for the stage, Gray also wrote extensively for radio and television.
