Betty Greenfield Grossman graduated from Vassar and earned her Masters and Ph. D. degrees through Washington University. She had a long career in the; Education Department at the museum, initiating many programs (radio, TV, lectures, and auditorium events) which brought the community into an awareness and appreciation of the art world. Her positions at the museum were: 1935-1955, Assistant in Education; 1956-1957, Senior Assistant in Education; 1958-1961, Auditorium Administrator; 1962-1966, Coordinator of Special Events; 1967-1971, Program Director; 1972-1973, Program Coordinator.
